For anyone feeling an inclination to, passion for, or connection with Yoga, a day such as this, that arrives once a year, is a very special occasion.
Today is a day to remember and think of Yoga, our love, our purpose in life, our senses…
Yoga has a dual nature of bringing us closer to our essence as individuals, and also making us part of a community. Perhaps everyone feels the experience of Yoga in a different way, but I am quite sure that each and every of us, whether we are yogis, yoginis, teachers, instructors, gurus, advanced practitioners, or beginners venturing for the first time into the world of Yoga, all of us must have felt some bliss at different levels through our practice.
When we practice Yoga, whether it is in our favorite personal spot, or in a room full of people, at some point many of us must have felt this bliss in different forms too. If some of us have not felt it yet, it might take a little longer along the path but, from my own experience, it will eventually happen.
These forms come from a strong link to one’s own senses, wanting to become a better person, namely more compassionate with all other living beings in nature; more mindful, since every action can have an impact on one’s own life and the lives of others; more devoted to whatever it is you believe in; more intuitive, trusting your instinct more often; more inspired to create, to grow, to love…
A unique magic then occurs when you get to that point, where you are sharing all of the above mentioned with your Yoga community and this very moment is when the Yoga – the yoke – the union – really materializes. For all of this and more,
Happy International Day of Yoga!
